If you want to put it in your pocket, the Kahr is the obvious choice. If you’re going to carry it IWB, or elsewhere, the G26 holds more ammunition, is more comfortable to fire, and costs less.

I prefer my S&W 629 snubbie. With a solid hit, the perp is probably on fire at that point. (bonus points)

I love that pistol - mechanically as close to perfect as I’ve seen: dependable action, tight tolerances all around, a great vented competition trigger and it is visually stunning in that tricolor version with a rosewood grip. Pure gun porn. ;-)

I have a Glock 26 & 27. I love them both, but decided a few years ago to start carrying something with a little more stopping power than the 26, hence the 27. The 27 is the same frame as the 26 but is a .40 cal. The frame size is perfect for my smaller hands, but if you need a little more length they do have an extender. Depending on how you plan to carry (I assume this is for concealed carry, otherwise you’d do better with a larger frame pistol) it has the potential for getting in the way.

Glock G26

A G27 is the same size in .40S&W.

Carries 10 rounds.

Works every time you pull the trigger.

I had a Kahr PM40. Jamorama. It would split the metal mags too up along the seam. Was sent back to Kahr once and came back with the same crap happening. I took a bath and traded it in on something else.

Wasn’t limpwristing either. I shoot 500s, 460s, Ruger Alaskans (.454), G29, G27, G21SF, blah, blah, blah.

ABout as dependable as they come. I know I can trust my life to that gun. The tolerances are exact, as you stated. ANyone who can afford a Kimer should definitely try one out IMO.

Single Stack, single-action, no magazine disconnect, a trigger of 4-5 pounds, and .45 ACP.....what more could one ask for? The perfect carry weapon.

Taurus PT 738 TCP .380 ACP Stainless/Polymer Pocket Pistol - "Shooting the 738 TCP was a pleasure. Even when using Plus P high performance ammunition, the pistol is very controllable and hits on a human silhouette target at twenty-five yards were easy during rapid fire. Head shots at seven and fifteen yards were also relatively easy, shooting offhand from a standing position." "Built roughly the same size as was once found only in .25 ACP pistols, these newest pistols are not much bigger than a pack of cigarettes, weigh less than three-quarters of a pound, and slide easily into a pants pocket. They are small enough, and light enough, that they can ALWAYS be with you, and that is the key to their popularity." http://www.gunblast.com/Taurus-PT738.htm

Have you looked at the G30SF? Only a bit larger than the G26 and also 10+1, but 45 ACP, which is sweet.

Go with the Glock 26. Extremely reliable and easy to take care of. I have three full sized Glocks which perform great.

The Glock, only because it's lighter.

The ONLY good CC weapon is the one you actually CARRY.

Personally, I carry the under-powered Sig P232 in .380. Super accurate, super reliable...small and LIGHT.

I'd rather have it than nuthin'

.40 or .45 only

Actually, .40 has marginally better proven street performance, but you can’t argue with 99 years of battlefield experience with the .45.

With 9mm, it hurts so much, people can get mad enough when you shoot them to get up and come after you.

It all depends on how good you are at concealment. In terms of sheer performance, the Glock 26 is the better gun, and has more rounds.

For sheer concealment, the kahr is the better choice.

Id rather have 10+1 than 6+1

Yes, they absolutely will do that. Easy to tap back in, but still...that said, I love my PM9 Covert and use it as my principal social gun. It's a little thinner than the Glock but that's because it's a single-stacker. Make your six count.

Not much to the grip, especially on the Covert. I do have small hands, so that doesn't bother me as much. Amazingly accurate for a 2.5-in barrel. Nothing but A-zones at 25 meters. YMMV.

9mm is cheaper to practice with and these days its easier to find than 40 cal ammo.
