>>> Favre takes chances. He throws the ball without thinking. He forces things. That is not “great.” That is stupid. And it’s why Favre is sitting on a couch right now. <<<
A bit harsh.
It was Favre and his ‘stupid chances’ that kept them in the game with the Saints, when the Saints should have won in a romp.
Favre had a fantastic game. One of his best ever.
He owned the fourth quarter.
After the Vikings fumbled in the Red Zone and the Saints scored the TD; and after the Saints got the INT on the Vikings next series.
Drew could have broken the game open with a good drive - but it was 3 and out (he almost did it).
Favre took the Vikings down the field to tie the game.
Drew got stopped again.
and Favre took the Vikings down the field yet again.
They were moving the ball by passing. They were not moving it much by running.
They got so close.
They tried a running play to get a bit closer and got stopped cold.
They tried another running play to gain those few needed yards and got stuffed again.
Then they tried 12 men in the huddle... and lost five yards.
and finally, they decided to try to win the game with their star one more time - with his arm - as they had been doing all game long and not with his legs.
Credit the ferocious Saints defense with that pick.
It was a very good pass.
But even BETTER defense.
GEAUX SAINTS.
Who dat in the Super Bowl? Go Saints!!
You get permission from the NFL to write "Who Dat"? LOL.
And to your point, I would much rather be in NOLA than Miami as well.
Great game Favre. Hope you get better soon. Those injuries look very painful.
>>> No, bruises are not why Favre throws interceptions. Bad judgment is why Favre throws interceptions.<<<<
GIVE IT A REST ALREADY. Favre is a great quarterback.
quote
>>>> Favre is widely considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.[4][5]
He is the only player to win the AP Most Valuable Player three consecutive times (199597).[6]
He led the Packers to seven division championships (1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2007),
four NFC Championship Games (1995, 1996, 1997 and 2007),
winning two (1996 and 1997), and
two Super Bowl appearances,
winning one (Super Bowl XXXI).
He holds many NFL records including:
most career touchdown passes,
most career passing yards,
most career pass completions,
most career pass attempts,
most career interceptions thrown,
most consecutive starts, and
most career victories as a starting quarterback.[7][8]<<<<
According to Wiki, Brett’s very first-ever pass in the NFL was picked off. From Wiki: “ Favre’s first pass in an NFL regular season game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown. He only attempted four passes in his career at Atlanta, was intercepted twice, and completed none of them.” So it seems oddly appropriate that he ends his career with a pick. Perfect bookended career.
No, bruises are not why Favre throws interceptions. Bad judgment is why Favre throws interceptions.
Yep.
Favre can't help hisself from getting too antsy about wanting to make something happen and wanting to be da man. He showed himself to be a pitiful brat with the way he handled leaving Green Bay, and that finally confirmed once and for all that it was egomaniacal immaturity behind all those interceptions. I could care less where he plays, but there are appropriate, considerate and mature ways to transition out of a club and that wasn't it.
Further, I fail to see how being banged up has anything to do with his decision to throw the ball at all, much less to throw a ball that had a 99.9% chance of being intercepted.
If he was injured, as he apparently was, it was all the more reason to play it safe and bring out the FG kicker for a chip shot. HELLO.
And what football player takes pics of his bruises in his kitchen and posts them on the internet with the caption, "Puh-leeze call the WWWAAAAAAAMMMNMMMBulance." Man up, Brat. It's just sickening.
P.S. And, who knows, maybe not just any old "bad judgment." Ever see that wired-up segment with Brat Farve and Holmgren? Wired-up, yeah.
Now THAT’s a picture that speaks a thousand words!
I don't know about that.
The Jets got as far into the playoffs this year without Favre as they did last year with him. And the Jets got as far into the playoffs this year without Favre as the Vikes did with him.
So how big a factor was he, really?
But at least he got to beat Green Bay. I'm sure he went home and thought to himself, "Well, now, at last, my pathetic little life is worth living!" ;)
Yes, his entire season made me wonder if he was dipping into the Superman pills or such. Just sayin’ he sure did look like a very brand new man this year.
Favre has no love on the thread. LOL.
Here is one for our Cowboy fans.
Another Cowboy arrested.

LOL!

Agreed. The penalty kicks in soccer are better than the NFL overtime. At least in soccer--and baseball and basketball--both teams get the ball.
I like the college football OT, but the network TV don't like it because multiple OT's can take too long. Maybe do the college OT for one possession each, and the game ends in a tie if no one scores--although that would not work for post-season games.
Still America’s Most Wanted, I see!
Favre doesn’t need love on this thread. I think he probably loves himself enough for all the rest of us combined.
LOL, but not to load.
Told myself I would be nice about Cowboy fans. Especially after the display of some of the Viking fans blaming Favres' mistakes on everyone but Captain Favre.
Predictable responses from the loyal fans. I am sure when you watch instant replay you don’t care about what HAPPENED, you just care about if the call benefits YOUR TEAM.
Maybe you were watching a different game than I was. The one I watched allowed the defense to hit Favre as late as they wanted (admitted by the NFL) and had 4 — 4! — consecutive bad calls, all in the Refaints favor. Lie to yourself all you want — it is you lying to you and none of my concern.
Like I said, the best bet is on how much of the game the Refs will give to the Refaints.
You can hew to the truth. Or you can hew to the falsity that is the Refaints.
But the Colts will need at least 2 TDs to overcome the thumb on the scale.
>>According to Wiki, Bretts very first-ever pass in the NFL was picked off. From Wiki: Favres first pass in an NFL regular season game resulted in an interception returned for a touchdown.<<
That is why you shouldn’t use Wiki. Favre’s first NFL pass was a completion — to himself!
>>the Viking fans blaming Favres’ mistakes on everyone but Captain Favre.<<
It isn’t the mistakes — those were there for everyone to see. It is the fact they OVERCAME the mistakes (which would have buried a lesser QB) but then had the NFL-directed calls against the Vikings shift the balance.
That is why the Vikings should have known the fix was in and should have ensured the game by making the score difference more than the refs could adjust for.
I’m betting on a future reconciliation and he goes in as a Packer.
I enjoyed watching him play as a Jet (up until the last few games, but i blame the collapse on Mangini, that $!^%&^&).
