He may not have many endorsements left, but the video game that bears Tiger Woods' name is out with a new version that's also available free of charge.
Tiger Woods is back on the course, at least the virtual one. Video game giant Electronic Arts, one of the few companies that have stuck by the embattled superstar, is letting you play the latest version of the game that bears his name, right now, for free.
"Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online" is now in beta, or testing phase, which means anyone with a PC or Mac and a good Internet connection can hop on and play. How this version differs from those from the past; no box, no disc, it's all right there in your browser.
This version is played entirely online, designed to be a mixture of video gaming and social networking...a sort of social gaming, playing only online with others. There are daily and weekly tournaments which are broken up into skill level so beginners play with beginners, pros with pros. Many in the video game community believe this is a big part of the future of video gaming as a new way to get casual gamers better integrated with the so-called hardcore gamers.
"Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online," again, is available for free now in beta form at www.tigerwoodsonline.ea.com.
And one of the most talked about titles at the big 2009 E3 video game convention is finally on shelves -- the follow-up to the popular "Mass Effect" hit, "Mass Effect 2."
