I went to see this woman once... in San Diego, about 20 years ago. I was stunned by how utterly emotionless she was.

I think her art is not about emotion, but rather about truth and the nuances, complexities and contradictions of life and relationships. I like her emotionaless delivery, because , for me, it enhances the subject matter of her songs. Just my take, I understand where you are coming from.

She's standing on top of a tall building in NYC... there are some amazing shots of the World Trade Center. Give me chills...
