Considering Microsoft has always had a back door for the NSA, yes you should absolutely Run LINUX, I have been running Ubuntu for a couple years, and will never go back to Winblows. Running Virtual Box for the 1 winblows program I need. All else is LINUX and I have never had any Problems at all. I will say that the learning curve can be rather steep at times, but in the end it is the way to go.
