Didn't they originally write him off the show by having him living elsewhere as a politician or lawyer? Maybe California? Seems like he may have came back one show after leaving as a regular but I'm not certain.

I remember watching it as a kid. Didn't know it was filmed in color a few seasons till I was an adult LOL.

Actually they didn’t kill Adam off, he was just out of town, I forget where, I just know they didn’t do him in.I think they were trying to let the fans get used to the idea that he was gone gradually.
