Bonanza..... when shows had families respecting each other and fathers were not played as fools...
Loved that show and he was always the good looking one.....even though we made fun of these 3 grown men still living with Pa.......

At the ranch. Visited it often before it closed. For years when you went in the front door Little Joe’s jacket was hanging on the coat rack. The house was set exactly like you would expect. Fortunately I was able to take the Madettes there before it closed.

I forgot that David Canary was on Bonanza - and yes, he’s a very big part of All My Children. It was rumored that he wasn’t going to go to LA when the show moved there, but thankfully that is not the case - he is a great actor! I remember growing up watching Bonanza (and wasn’t it one of the first shows to be shown in color?) and I always looked forward to it....I had a crush on Little Joe....and yes, “Adam’s” death at 81 does indeed make me feel old. RIP

When did it close? I used to live at South Shore (1972) and drove by the ranch everytime I went to Incline Village to party. Never stopped. I regret that.

First one to die on the series. Last one alive in life. Didn't they originally write him off the show by having him living elsewhere as a politician or lawyer? Maybe California? Seems like he may have came back one show after leaving as a regular but I'm not certain.
I remember watching it as a kid. Didn't know it was filmed in color a few seasons till I was an adult LOL.

I remember that Disney's Wonderful World of Color, Bonanza and The Dinah Shore Show were the first color programs. My parents played canasta with some friends who had one of the first color tv's. They invited us, the kids, to come and enjoy the tv while they played. Mr. Goodell had to come in to adjust the color every 15 to 20 minutes, but it was amazing.

“
Bonanza, Cheyenne, Maverick, Have Gun Will Travel...
Now that was the ‘Golden Age’ of TV!
“
It was a better, simpler time.
Well, at least as I remember it...
(And in this PC age, I’ve heard that “Have Gun Will Travel” doesn’t
get aired even on cable because “it’s too violent”. Funny, I don’t
recall Richard Boone throwing as much lead as Jack Bauer!)
