That was the question posed to Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell. After hearing this question I started wondering if African American (I hate that title) Coaches were somehow inferior. I mean why else would a reporter feel the need to ask this question? Is it not the same to a Caucasian coach if he gets to the super bowl? Is it not the same level of coaching involved? Coach Caldwell did a fantastic job with his Football team this season, and not because he happens to be black. Your ethnicity does not give you an advantage in coaching football. The more that these types of questions are asked, the longer this country is going to be divided.
When the Colts and the Bears were in the super bowl in 2006, the big story wasn't the game that was about to be played... it was two black head coaches in the super bowl for the first time. I don't think that either coach stayed up the night before thinking about being black and coaching a super bowl game, I think they were thinking about strategy and how good it felt to get to that point... like every other coach in any sport would have been thinking.
I’m not much of a sports fan so I’m not familiar with this man. Is this coach light-skinned? Does he have a negro dialect?
It doesn't apply to the Europeans with other origins, e.g. Finno-Ugric (without previous Indo-European language history).
No Caucasian coach has ever won the Super Bowl. At least none of the names on the list looks Armenian, Georgian, Azerbaijani, Ossetian, Abkhazian, Lezgi, or Chechen.
Well then according to you White folk ain’t Caucasians.
So what are the other terms for the racial groupings of peoples other than Caucasian, Negroid and Mongaloid?
If you had put Peyton Manning on the St. Louis offense this year, he’d be watching the Super Bowl at home. One player can only be credited so much with success.
Funny story, at the close of Jimmy Johnson's first game as Cowboys head coach, a 28-0 loss to the Saints, one of the announcers said, "And Tom Landry remains the only coach the Dallas Cowboys have ever scored a point for."
It certainly should be Negroid American seeing how any white person who happens to have been born in Africa such as my wife (South Africa in this case)and therefore is ACTUALLY African American is informed they are not permitted to be considered African American for the basis of our Government run Spoils System because she is not “from one of the black racial groups of Africa.”
Excellent point!
Totally agree - who gives a flying fee fee! Funny how no one asked about the owner and coach thanking the All Mighty for all their blessings...seemed to slip by un- noticed...hmmmm.
And Lovie clearly forgot his faith when he supported Obama. I brought this up to a black friend- what’s more important to you, voting for a man who shares your faith and values, or a man who shares your race. He was stunned- and silent.
And when I heard him make that comment, I became a Dungy fan for life (despite some of his recent questionable statements)
Which ethnicity is necessary for a D. Corner?
So what “race” are the Finns? Surely their language pattern is different but are they genetically different also?
Finns have several different groups in their background. One such group consists of the Indo-European speaking Swedes. Another consists of the Indo-European speaking Russians. There were also Uralic/Altaic speaking people who came there and left genes. Then, there are the Sa'ami.
Today's modern Sa'ami languages are classified as Finno-Ugric mostly on the basis of common vocabulary. In reality, they have many grammatical functions of demonstrably ancient origin that have their counterparts in nothing less than Ancient Sumerian. That language may be a cognate of a Dravidian language in existence 7000 years ago.
The Sa'ami themselves are a genetic isolate although the Skolt appear to have had outside contact about 7000 years ago.
Anything from 7000 years ago is a tad BEFORE the creation of any of the Caucasion languages or ethnic groups. They were just wild, nekkid savages in those days.
Europe has several other non-Indo European languages. The best known is Basque which probably dates to the Ice Age.
Oh, forgot to answer the question ~ Finns, like many other groups in the far North, tend to be blond. Almost any picture of a bunch of Finns shows blonds. Check the eyes! You’ll see some differences. They, themselves, recognize the blue eyed folks as being different from the light gray eyed folks.
LOLOL - it’s great living in MO, we have the Rams AND the Chiefs. It’s like a FB trainwreck.
Just picked this thread to mention Obozo wants the Saints to win because of Katrina.
Golly, who could have thunk it?
