We lived in California for 10 years. Our daughter stayed out there, went to USC and is still there, enjoying the rain.

Speaking of Brown, she was surprised when I told her yesterday that Governor Brown had declared those disaster areas recently. Nothing has changed in 30 years, not even the governor!

Look, pal, you've been insulting all along, and the fact that you "naped" them (I had already guessed that and expected your reply post would be an indignant "harrrumph" at my suggestion you'd have gone along with 60s protest songs) doesn't mean a thing in terms of what you'd have done had you been 12 at the time instead of 22. From what I see of you here on FR, I think you'd have gone along with the teacher and "coolness" rather than calling progaganda bullsh*t. As I hope you gathered from my homepage, people who choose their politics on what's "cool" and popular rather than what's right give me a pain and have since grade school.

You just sound like an insulting, condescending, sneering jerk, that's all. Maybe you're not, but you sure come across like one. You want to unite against a common enemy, then you need a better eye for who that enemy is: it's the statist, Republican and Democrat; an insulting belittling tone to those of us who reject Romney because he IS a statist means that your idea of "the same enemy" is bogus. In short, you come across as the guy who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and people who don't realize it are just too uncool for school. "Lighten up."
