Sarah Palin is losing my support... (Not for the reason you might think)

Posted on 01/22/2010 10:39:43 PM PST by se_ohio_young_conservative

I wouldn't mind Sarah Palin supporting John McCain if....

John McCain had came out in defense of her against Steve Schmidt and others. But John McCain is a coward. It has less to do with policy and more about Palin's lack od self respect.

These people tried to destroy you Sarah. Sometimes the high road is for losers. Sometimes you have to get downright nasty and take a stand. We need someone that is not afraid to kick some butt.

This talk about loyalty disturbs me. George W. Bush was way too loyal and tried taking the high road. Remember all of the talk about a "new tone" in Washington ? Instead. President Bush allowed liberals to pick him apart everyday. It got to the point it was painfull to watch.

Why isn't Palin fighting back against the haters like Steve Schmidt ? Why, oh why would she go campaign for someone who hired Steve Schmidt ?

Why was she is Wasilla and not in Massacusetts helping out early this week ?

She doesn't seem to have the fire in the belly. I thought I was supporting a gunslinger and a fighter.

Your tagline, "The truth shall set you free." Well, fellow FReepers and lurkers, the truth is that flaglady is a longtime, vocal Romney supporter. It might explain her "hatred" and "vitriol" (words Romney supporters typically use against those of us who reject him and his nanny-state politics wholeheartedly and consistently) against Palin.

That's the truth, and certainly does set ME free from giving flaglady's opinions any credibility.

(”Sarah will need allies in the house/senate (hence her stumping and speaking engagements in 2010).......

Well now, that puts things a little more in perspective....hummm.

I've officially stopped arguing this point with FReepers. It always gets ugly, and nothing I say will convince you otherwise, anyway.

I like her very much. Like most people I like very much, I don't think she's qualified to be president.

If that means I "hate" her, I don't know what to tell ya, but I'm not wasting more breath arguing about it. (It was my New Year's resolution.)

Methinks you’re suffering Palin-withdrawl-syndrome?

A lot of that going on here...and a proliferation of armchair experts...:o)

Some wanted to know why the GOP wasn’t out there for Brown too, but as I understand it they were indeed there behind the scenes, and certainly with some unknown funding.

Politics are tricky at this stage because the boards being set up, players moveing and shaking...But we will know how it shakes out in due time.

She lost mine when she quit.

Yep. I always say when you start to shovel a pile of s**t you should always shovel until that pile is gone...no quitters! (SSI~severe sarcasm intended)

Frankly, I don’t know what’s happening to Sarah lately but something is wrong...can’t put my finger on it but I smell something is wrong. She was so guarded on Beck’s interview - she is so guarded with all the interview she did on Fox...I wonder who is trying to shut her up or something...Fox? I feel something has been broken somewhere - She suddenly lost her fire...what’s happening?

Just looks like a re-grouping ....we have to give her time to find a new footing. I've never seen anyone in politics attacked the way this lady has been. One interview does not a person make. Sit back and watch for a while.

Look at it this way...Obama would run off crying like a little girl if he had directed at him what has been directed at her. Hell he got really upset when Maureen Dowd said something about his Dumbo ears...Sarah is 10 times the man he is...

YOU LIE --

YOU LIE and write INSULTING FALSEHOODS HERE as do most Romney supporters on Free Republic. Attributing to "hatred" and calling their posts "vitriol" has, over the past many years I've read and participated in Romney threads (along with many other FReepers who know what a dangerous force Romney truly is to our freedom and the GOP's future), is RARELY DONE by we sensible folks who try to point out to Romney supporters why Romney is bad news for the GOP. THAT IS THE TRUTH, Flaglady, and you know full well that "hatred" and "vitriol" are signature accusations tossed BY Romney supporters, not AT them. But you are held hostage because you engage in LIES and even believe them.

You give it away in your post just now -- you call us "irrational antagonists." There is zero that is "irrational" about pointing out Romney's track record of EVERY TIME calling for more and bigger government as the solution to perceived problems. There is zero "irrational" about pointing out that Romney has made it crystal clear that he would REMOVE our right to peacefully and morally discriminate against open homosexuality in our midst, down to preventing an openly gay man from being the Scout Master of a Boy Scout Troop. There is zero "irrational" about pointing out the dismal aftermath of Romney's reign in Massachusetts.

Anyone that considers such reasons for rejecting Romney "irrational" is a fool whose words here should be dismissed FREELY, hence the truth setting us free. Furthermore, when this same fib-telling fool disses Palin ... it makes me think Palin must be pretty good.

.....she knows she’s lost the race to define herself to the nation......

Sarah has defined herself as a star at this point...working at Fox will define her moreso as that. Popular no doubt. But she’s also defined conservative values..and that counts greatly. Some have forgotten along the way.

Supporting GOP canidates, representing the face of conservatives and building the energy of the people. She IS working for us...and if this is as far as she WANTS to go I’m very much fine with that..she’s doing a great job, and then all this makes sense.

AS President, at any other time I wouldn’t be so hesitant, but our nation has serious international problems which Bo continues to make worse..and they will be worse when the next Pres. steps in office.

hummm I just don’t know if Sarah can handle these while learning how to be Pres., and the washington circuit...I don’t want another popular Bo, rather someone more seasoned with both these arenas. But who???? Really who else????

I can see why some would say that...I don't feel that exactly...just the feeling of watching someone who was beaten to a pulp who is trying to heal and carry on the good fight at the same time. If she had literal bandages it would be visually clear.

I think she will be a transformation and one-of-a-kind leader because she is an attractive personality and can be the replacement Oprah--a woman who speaks to women and can help shape the national debate as no politician can.

Anyone who thinks that's anything but the highest praise is too blind to see that Palin could very well be a kingmaker who has more power, for longer, than any politician.

Thank you for your thoughts on this. It will be interesting to see how things play out. I am glad I don’t have to decide one way or another right now. Enough I very much support Sarah’s good work thus far and who really knows what part she’ll play down the road.

I consider her appearance on Oprah to be genius — if she gets out a strong conservative message, one which most of O’s viewers would never see or hear. She comes across as very likable by those who actually see her and not that impersonator on SNL. She has the potential to wake up that crowd.

(Fingers crossed.)
