A listener to Washington, DC's news talk radio station WAMU - 88.5FM (an NPR station) wrote the following today in the D.C. Radio & Television web site's Mailbag section (www.dcrtv.com)--
"Dear DCRTV: Diane Rehm on her 01/22/10 10am domestic politics show on WAMU said that "Republicans have wanted to kill Obama from the time he was elected." None of the guests said a word in response. Is Diane getting too old for the show or is she just showing her true colors? Her comment deserves some media attention. It's outrageous. Rgds. lanzil (1/22/10)"
I was appalled. I've included a link to Rehm's web page at WAMU, which has links to her podcast of today (1/22/10). Had words like these been uttered by Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, etc., they'd be driven out of town and fired from their jobs.
This is unbelievable. Typical NPR station staple.
She's as old as McKook.
I've listened to her at length trying to detect the attraction: an entertaining wit; a sharp, reasoning mind; an original thinker. I found none of this.
She was very glamorous in her prime.
The only people from whom I hear anything about wanting to kill the kenyan are liberals.

In context, what she said actually does represent a tangible threat to the life of the president of the United States. As such, it is incumbent on the Secret Service to pay her a visit to ask her *at least* if she has *any* evidence, whatsoever, of any individual or group that have been or are planning to kill the president.
What she said can, again in context, indicate any of several tangible threats. First of all, it could be interpreted as a *direct* threat to the president of the United States. That is, that she is inciting someone else to attempt to kill the president.
It is equivalent to saying that “somebody should kill the president.”
Second, it could be seen as above, that she has direct knowledge of a plot or conspiracy to kill the president.
Third, it is political incitement, not personal incitement, implying that “Obama has failed” the extreme left, so he should be killed by them, and the right should be blamed for the killing.
In any of these cases, or other possibilities not considered, there is probable cause for the Secret Service to at least question Diane Rehm, because what she said clearly rises to the point where an investigation is warranted.
Admittedly judging by that comment alone, the woman sounds dumber than a bag of hammers.

Funny you should mention that, because she did take a spill in the radio station parking lot around 6 months ago breaking a bone, and was off the air recovering for a couple of months. Now she's back, in all her acrid snottiness. Wonder if she ever thought about how Øbamaocare would have taken care of her.
