Ah, yes, the famous pic of Johnson and Boswell coming back late from a night on the town. Johnson is telling Boswell, "I can smell you in the dark!"

I knew from reading Boswell's Life that Johnson was one of the first to tumble to the fakery, and pursued it relentlessly, but didn't know the details.

I would hate to have ol' Sam after me. He was a formidable opponent.

Me too. That cane in his hand? Anybody who hunts mad dogs with one is probably a little vigorous for me as well. His call about the War of Independence ending in "English superiority and American obedience" might have been a little off, though...
