It’s really a close call. If the Dem had won, the 2010 election scene would have been a slam dunk for Republicans. As it is, the Dems have a 9 month probationary period to get the message straight and in line with voters. They can quit spending, quit taxing, and work on the unemployment rate without the distraction of pushing their socialist agenda until 2011. They had been living in Dementia World until last night, and now they are awake. They have an opportunity to change direction and save themselves.

But, since we won, we got a big boost of confidence that will attract more good candidates who believe they can win. Conservatives, who never like to throw good money after bad, will have more confidence donating. And of course, the health care bill is derailed at least for a while.

Since I have no reason to believe that Dems will actually make any change in direction, I think the election is a net positive. Now, if the public goes back to sleep and thinks that this election has solved the problem....
