Thanks - u da man!
FWIW - I love the Kimber - it’s just way outta my $ range.
Contrary opinion. For a pocket gun consider the Keltec P32. With modern self defense ammo a 32 is back on the table. They make an extended clip available only for the 32 that allows you to get 3 fingers on the grip.

It’s a fantastic firearm.
I’ve helped about 8 co-workers buy guns over the past year. Now, I’m a Glock and SIG guy, but even I had to tell them to look at the new XDm pistols.
My department director chose the 9mm and he loves the thing.
I only wish they’d offer the XDm in size options similar to those of Glock (L/M/S), cuz that frame is BIG.
I don’t understand it.
It’s always been the grip that’s the hinge-point for CCW weapons. They should’ve gone the other way.

I am definitely biased towards 1911’s. IMO, almost any 1911 is better than almost every polymer gun.
No doubt they are expensive. If there can be said to be a downside to Kimber’s that is it. Cabela’s sends out $100 coupons about 4x a year. That helps. I also have their credit card and earn alot of points towards guns. That helps too.
Regards and Good Luck!

This may help a little more on deciding between Springfield XD, Glock and Smith and Wesson M&P Compact series: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1078735
Taurus is a 9mm and feels good in my hand - my pinkie doesn’t wave around with no place to sit. Academy has ‘em here in San Antonio for about $350. The Kel-Tec PF9 appears to be pretty hard to come by, but apparently runs about the same. Not sure, but I think there’s an extender for the Kel-Tec to make it a full-hand grip. Just don’t buy the Taurus sight-unseen: there’s a pink version! Don’t ask, don’t tell...
