A team should be trying to score on every play, regardless of the score. If the lead is insurmountable, put in your backups to gain game experience.

I hate that “take a knee” crap.

We need annual reruns of the last three minutes of the “Heidi” game to remind everyone why you need to keep scoring.

At the lower/educational levels of the sport; up through most high school programs, you can destroy huge blocks of kids desire to play the game by running up the score, and is truly unsportsmanlike if the intent is to embarrass the opposition. So, I disagree with you , there.

With that said, Brookings needs to shut up and act like a big boy. He and his team mates make millions upon millions of dollars to provide entertainment in the form of organized sports. His team had multiple chances to stop the Vikes from scoring, and blew it. Maybe, instead of complaining about it, they need to be evaluating what they need to work on in the off season, so they don't get schooled in front of a national audience, again.

Just my two cents; having been on both sides of the issue at multiple levels of the game.
