I've been running this way for about eight years, with multiple users, going to a wide range of websites. We actually have 2 active computers on the system, no worries.

We do not surf the porn sites or any other questionable content sites. I am an electronic tech by trade and I do believe the anti virus software actually draws the bad junk to your computer.

I believe some anti-virus does that, mostly Norton and Mcafee.

Not running something is a poor choice. Numerous legitimate websites have been compromised and will install malware on your PC when you visit them. These are normal shopping sites.

AVG, Comodo, and Avast are good choices and run very light.

Only when the air pump is working well and all the vacuum lines are attached to your pneumatic USB 0.5 ports, but that's a much older technology. Today's virus' have far less mass and evade these anti virus systems in a most uncanny fashion. 8^P
