I fully agree. The P-47 had by far, a much longer and solid record and contributed the greatest damage to the enemy on all fronts. It could do it all and was the first fighter to escort our bombers from start to finish after they developed the first drop-tanks. The P-51 came later on and had many issues at first. It was not fully effective until about 1944 until they worked out the many bugs it had.

The P-47 is the most unsung hero of the war and the outcome would have been much different without it.
