Repeat of tonight's Q&A on C-Span begins at 11:00 PMEST with an hour of interview of Fred Grandy by Brian Lamb. Grandy is the former "Gopher" on "Love Boat", Republican congressman from Iowa, and current self-proclaimed conservative co-host of the "Grandy and Andy" talk radio show on WMAL in DC.

Nothing particularly deep or surprising in the interview, but some interesting information on Grandy's background and inside views of the talk show business.....

i have to suffer through this moron every morning on WMAL. he is not a conservative. he IS a moron. example: instead of giving a counter-argument when he is in a box (which is often) he says, “yeah, but think about this: ...” and then goes on to bring up something completely irrelevant to the argument.

I like and admire Fred, and his counterpoint with Andy Parks, the former bus driver, is humorous and enlightening.

I hope listeners realize that before that shows begins every morning, Grandy and Andy plan what they are going to argue about, and take turns changing their positions on every debate. Someday Andy says something outrageous and Brian and Fred argue with him; sometimes it’s Fred’s turn to be outrageous. It’s orchestrated. If they all agreed every day the show would be pretty boring.
