It certainly looked like it was written on Jerry Jones’s face.

why would Jerry Jones fire him? If you want to fire the reason the cowboys haven't won is cause you can't fire an owner.

Jerry Jones started thinking he was a "football expert" after two of Jimmy Johnson's teams won Super Bowls and he got that idiot Switzer to take another Jimmy Johnson team to the Super Bowl.

I wish Jerry would just get in the owner's box, drink scotch and bang cheerleaders instead of playing general manager, coach and all around douche bag.

And he can take that Redskins reject no-kick place kicker Sean Suisham with him too.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stopped short of saying he’ll bring coach Wade Phillips back next season, but said Sunday’s 34-3 loss to the Vikings will not impact his decision.

“I’ll be sitting down with Wade and then we can kind of address it squarely, that’s what I would like to do,” Jones told reporters on Sunday. “But I’m pleased with the job he’s done and this game does not have any bearing ultimately on the decision I’ll make.”

Phillips led the Cowboys to the NFC East title with an 11-5 record and to the team’s first playoff victory sinc 1996, with a wild-card round thumping against Philadelphia.

But the luck ran out in Minnesota for the team many analysts said was the hottest in the NFL.

Former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, now a Fox analyst, said he thought Jones would bring Phillips back. Jones owns an option on Phillips’ contract for next season.

“I certainly will evaluate this game,” Jones said, “but this is a game that we know we’ve got to be better than we were today but I don’t have anywhere near the feeling that I had at the end of last year when we were in Philadelphia at season’s end. This is a totally different thing.”

ESPN reported before Sunday’s game that Jones was likely to bring Phillips back and to work on an extension. The network reported after the game that Jones said he would discuss an extension with Phillips this week.

The Cowboys have gone 33-15 under Phillips in three seasons.

“We’ve got a foundation we can build on,” Jones said. “We’ve got talent, we’ve got talent on the way with young players that we have the chance to keep with continuity and I’m going to do that.” — Sean Leahy
