Well, as much fun as it would be to ENTIRELY blame the collapsed floor on the fatties, the report of the smell of sewage suggests (to me) that there was a sewage leak that rotted out the floor prior to it collapsing under the increased load of the Weight Watchers.

A sewage leak is not conducive to continued structural integrity.
