Jazz these days is in the eye of the beholder (or is it ear.) “Jazzfests” are, increasingly, nothing of the sort. The only true jazz genius today is Jessica Williams. She’s a pianist you have to hear to believe and, even then, you can’t.

I’ve heard her live. Not my favorite, but not bad. For chick jazz, I prefer the swing of Ella over all comers.
