Oooooohh, you’re gonna get banned due to obscene pics like that!
I was at the store this am. They had mangos for .79 each. Not sure where they are from but they were beautiful! I love mangos!

Most of the mangos available this time of year are not very good — too stringy.
But wait a few months, and you won’t wrong with the small, oval, yellow Mexican mangos that begin appearing in ethnic grocery stores during the spring.
Then in July, look for the big, roundish, red Mexican mangos. Also great. They should be available until the early fall.
Always check mangos for country of origin. Guatemalans are uniformly bad in my experience. Mexicans have usually been excellent. The mangos from South America are good only about 40% of the time. But if you buy the latter from a small Latino or Asian store, they’ll probably be just fine because the shopkeepers know how, what and when to buy.
(On the other hand, the mangos carried by big chains like Safeway, Kroger, Brookshire, etc. are usually anywhere from mediocre to awful, probably because their produce buyers don’t know how to select good mangos.)
