I like to enjoy a movie every once in a while but I’m really, really picky.

Star Trek was quite satisfying, so was the recent Sherlock Holmes movie. But Julia/Julie was bittersweet - enjoyed the movie until it started bashing Senator Joe McCarthy and Republicans. Nora Ephron produced the movie and couldn’t help herself from turning a movie about mastering French cooking into a political statement, which turned me off.

I’m so sorry to hear that, I was hoping this might be the one movie without the not so subtle bashing of anything remotely right wing, conservative or Republican. I should have know better, Merle Streep is a tree hugging liberal of the first order. HW just can’t help themselves, they crap on everythibng they make.

"Julie..Julie"

I groaned inwardly when I saw Nora Ephron was the screenwriter. I was not disappointed. The anti-conservative barbs were predictably stupid..."if I was a Republican, I would have fired you." I had to be silent because I watching the flick with my step-daughter who is hard-core lib. I doubt she even noticed the anti-Republican statements.
