yes and sad thinking everyone we saw in that video had no clue they would be gone in days as would most of their familiesNot exactly. The death toll was about the same as the World Trade Center death toll in 2001, about 3,000 or so. Lot's of fatalities for sure, but hardly "everyone we saw in that video".

I believe it was the 1890’s when they began to be more available, a few in the late 1880’s. But the Ford came about right around this time, and I don’t know if any were made by then or not.
I found it interesting that there were so many on the film.

Didn’t know that number. However, I would venture to say a lot of those people were probably gone and who knows about their families. What a devastating earthquake that was. Beyond my imagination for sure.
