OK for those that want to stop the whaling, here is the better way to do it. Get their government subsidy cut. I think all conservatives agree government handouts to unprofitable businesses, from GM to Chrysler to Ethanol to whale meat should be eliminated. The Japanese whalers don't go down into that miserable chunk of ocean for fun, they do it because they get paid. If nobody buys their product and the government doesn't subsidize it the trade ends.

No need for speed boats, bottle throwing hippies or endangering the lives of the people on the ships.

As for the people who depend on whale meat for protein, get a burger at McDonald's. The cattle farms operate at a profit.

Or perhaps we can convince the Japanese to change to hunting Sea Hippies. Their captain has enough blubber to warrant a harpoon. And the population of hippies (both aquatic and urban) requires thinning.
