Austin is definitely, the major excretion route in Texas. “ut, nothing but steers and queers.” I saw many of these bumper stickers when I was in college in Tx a few years ago.

Tuscaloosa was darkest RED (McCain) while Austin was darkest BLUE (Obama.)
