Amy Winehouse Replaces Drugs with Shopping, Exercise

Amy Winehouse has given up the drugs, but she's replaced them with a shopping addiction. The troubled singer -- who has reportedly rekindled her romance with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil -- has delighted her family by finally getting clean but is still causing them concern by obsessively indulging in her new hobbies, which also include exercise.

Her father Mitch Winehouse revealed: “Amy quit the drugs in her own way. In August 2008 she said to me, ‘Dad, I don’t want to do this any more.’ And she hasn’t. I’m more proud of her for that than her music -- she’s done it all by herself. But she’s not out of the woods yet."

He continued, “She’s a recovering addict and other problems have developed. Shopping is a problem -- she’ll go into Agent Provocateur and spend £3,000 (about $4,800) on underwear in one go. She works out for three to four hours a day in the gym.”

Mitch also admitted he is worried about Amy’s alcohol consumption, but doesn’t think he can get her to cut down. He added to Closer magazine: “Amy’s still drinking. Not to excess, but she drinks perhaps more than she should. The ideal situation is that she steers clear of alcohol, but she’s 26 and she wants to be with people and have a drink.”

Reminiscing bump, of a time when we had hope.

Just watched the “Back To Black” video, which, if you recall, features a burial. And, at the end of the video, the screen reads “R.I.P. the Heart of Amy Winehouse.” Eerie.

I just realized hers is the only music I listen to made in this century. There is just something about it. I've taken all-day drives on the Interstate and listened to nothing else.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of reading about NDE’s (Near-Death Experiences), etc., where folks believe they've been to the other side and come back. There is an extraordinary consistency in their stories; on the other side there is an Unconditional Love that is overwhelming and far beyond Human Experience. It seems to hold true with or without belief in Jesus.

I hope that is true; I hope Amy is there. I pray that God will take her and bring her His Peace.

Regards,
