New Marvell Chips Tout ARM and 3D Powers******************************EXCERPT****************************

posted Today, 10:52 AM   by Eric M. Zeman

Marvell has provided more details about its Armada 600 series mobile chips. The Armada can run the ARMv7 processes, which makes it compatible with Android, Linux, and Windows Mobile devices. Armada features a 1GHz processor, and the power to push 45 million 3D triangles per second while controlling two separate displays. Marvell says the chip can be used in Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), connected portable media players, eReaders, smartphones, and new personal information appliances.

*************************EXCERPT from link just above*******************************

The ARMADA 610 comes with support for Android, Linux, and Windows Mobile/CE-based operating systems. Marvell is targeting the ARMADA 610 to " Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), connected portable media players, eReaders, smartphones, and new personal information appliances," according to the company.

Notice that smartphones are only a small part of the equation, as Marvell hasn't been a big player in the smartphone space recently. You're more likely to see ARMADA 610 in tablets and e-readers, we suspect.

I hear that Marvell treats their legal staff really poorly.

Yeah, I know, sniff, sniff.

When it gets up to operating temperature, can it cook breakfast?
