As someone who has had part of an ear, eyebrow, lip, and most of a nostril removed, I found the article promising.
Thank God for skilled reconstructive surgeons.

Oh my gosh, how terrible for you! I spent half (the summer half) of the 70's on a blanket in the backyard, listening to my little radio and applying baby oil to my fair skin. I don't know how I've escaped so far. I'm very sorry you are going through this.
