Still love the music JJ and Big Brother put out.
My favorite was their version of “Summertime”.
you must be closer to the perfect race than the rest of us. ;)
I even like the typo above the video:
“Please chick on this ad before you leave. Thank You”
So young, gone too soon.
I grew up with that.
I couldn’t then and I still cannot now see the point of it.
Sorry, Janis. I liked some of our stuff. But you were only a druggie.
I liked some of our stuff=
I liked some of *your* stuff
Beethoven was spinning in his grave.
JJ— the pride of Beaumont, Tx. Well, not really. She was the best of the raspy voiced female blues rock artists of all time. Not even Kim Carnes (Betty Davis Eyes) comes close.
You young’uns allow us old geezers to reminisce some.
“Sorry, Janis. I liked some of our stuff. But you were only a druggie”
...yep, that’s the bottom line....alcohol and drugs ran her life until they killed her...I don’t see her as a great artist at all...just a sad derelict.
Didn’t know that Beethoven wrote “Ball and Chain”
I was thinking she was from Port Arthur.
You better come on, come on
Take it!
Take another little piece of my heart, now baby.
Oh, Oh, take it!
Take another little piece of my heart, now baby.
Janis Joplin,1970 Fayetteville,I have the ticket somewhere.
Canceled that show at the very last, that day I believe
Oh Lord I Would have loved to have seen Janis perform
It's pretty clear that she was neither clean nor sober during *this* performance. But it's still *great* stuff.
I saw her at a rock festival in Lewisville, Tx back in the day. She sang “Piece of My Heart” for thirty minutes. Short, sad life, but boy could she sing.
No one.
PFFFFFFFFFTTT!!
Claire Torry had great gig.
Janis burned the candle at both ends.
Here’s another one for today’s yutes; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVMqtOUipXY
