Need help with virus warning!

I'm no computer expert, but I have Trend Micro Internet Security installed in my PC (renewed subscription yesterday) and scan the whole thing once a day (it takes over an hour, but I think it is worth). This morning, when I turned on my PC I got a warning from "website" that my PC is infected with a trojan and asking me to click and install some program. I did a quick scan of my PC, and Trend Micro says it is clean. When I tried to X out of the warning, it refused to go away, it kept demanding that I install that "program". I think it's all very suspicious, it only made me more determined NOT to install it. Why would it try to push it like that? Is that a way to get me to download a real trojan? Why else would Trend Micro say that my PC is clean?

Sounds like a piggy back program on Google Adsense or something similar. The bad script is hidden in the closing tags of the page when you load it. Usually when that happens if you disconnect ASAP it doesn’t do anything. Don't try to X out either on some that triggers the download. Disconnect from the Internet and reboot. If your virus scan says you're clean the chances are good that is true.

Also keep your Windows security updates current. Many of these are older exploits and the patch in the Windows updates addresses them.

I think Redcloak has the most likely answer to what happened. I've had it happen to me on sites that Google uses Adsense and Analytics on.

THANK YOU, EVERYBODY! Y’all were so sure, I downloaded Malwarebytes and it found two “rogue installer” files that my regular internet security system had missed! I’m going to download it to my husband’s and my son’s PCs. THANK YOU!
