His King Kong gets better with every viewing, and his Lord of the Rings trilogy was excellently well done and has brought much joy and good entertainment to millions. He has also provided gainful employment to probably tens of thousands of people -- Peter Jackson is a citizen of the world who has brought good, good, and more good.
As for Patrick Stewart ... kudos to him, too, but on balance, I'd say Peter Jackson was far and away the better gift to the world.

That was badly put. A better way to say it is that on balance, Peter Jackson's good effect on the world is more widespread. There, I feel better now -- Patrick Stewart is also a fine gift!
