Coaching a major college football team is a pressure-cooker even under the best of circumstances. I guess it’s a good thing he did not get the Notre Dame job, because there is no more high-pressure, largely thankless job in college football than being the head coach at Notre Dame. Don’t get me wrong: I love Notre Dame football. But it has a way of breaking even the strongest of coaches. It knocked out such stalwarts as Ara Parsegian and Lou Holtz, both of whom could handle stress. But, there is stress, and then there is Notre Dame stress.
Naw, no pressure at Florida.. /sarcasm
I think Holtz came out of it a little messed up in the gourd.
