Texas Tech head football athletic trainer Steve Pincock said Red Raiders receiver Adam James was placed in a "sports medicine garage" and media room as "big as a two-car garage" while recovering from a concussion, and was monitored by two trainers at all times.
Pincock's account of the incident, given in a statement to representatives of former Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, contradicts James' version of events that led to Leach being fired Wednesday.
James, who is the son of ESPN college football analyst Craig James, sustained a concussion on Dec. 16. He was examined the following day and told not to practice because of the injury and an elevated heart rate.

I never said there weren’t conservative places, just that it is not a conservative state.
I want Texas to be conservative, just as I want Mt, ND, SD, Co, Ar, and In to be. Before we can win, we have to objectively look at ourselves and see the landscape for what it is.
TX is becoming more liberal by the year and we stand to lose control of the state legislature.
I hope Mike comes out smelling like a rose. Wouldn't be surprised that Kentucky is interested; he was offensive coordinator there before Stoops hired him at OU.
ESPN keeps digging themselves quite a culpability hole on the air. They will lose some serious dollars in this. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
BTW - the kid looks like a complete turd.
<<
A question no one on Leach’s side wants to answer: why did Leach cuss out the kid before sending him to “the shed”?
>>
I take it you’ve never played football. I got called a “stupid m*therf*cker” during a game for scoring a touchdown. I picked up a fumble and ran with it in the waning seconds of a game in which we were winning when the policy was to just fall on it. Coach was right.
<<
Know what that changes in this situation? Nada.
>>
Changes plenty. Likelihood is that the staff wanted James to quit. If he were to quit he’d forfeit his scholarship. If they kicked him off the team he’d get to keep it. That’s usually the case.
And if you had broken your tibia and Coach called you a "stupid m*f*er" you'd have an analogy.
If they wanted him to quit, why didn't they release him from his scholarship and let him transfer? Additionally, being kicked off the team doesn't mean you get to keep your scholarship.
But why do it at all? If the kid is a pain in the neck, then send him back to his dorm or kick him off the team. What on earth is the purpose of putting him in a dark room?
It just sounds childish and petty to me. A really dumb thing to do.
Because if you send him back to his room, etc., you lose control of a player with an injury during practice time. As someone who has had concussions, a dark, cool room is a perfect place for someone who is having light sensitivity. From a coaching perspective, I also don’t want a kid, with a record of being a disruption and non-team player, on my practice field distracting other players/coaches when he is unable to participate- esp. if he’s injured and has a history of dogging it.
Well, Leach also made sure there was no place for the guy to sit or lie down. It still sounds like a petty, vindictive thing to do that had nothing to do with the player’s medical condition or discipline.
Texas is no different than any other state in that it has its share of corrupt, concentrated Democrat parasite nests (”cities”) that consistently give the rats the bulk of their votes in statewide races. But when you subtract the Democrat party base of welfare grandmothers, atheists, abortion enthusiasts, condom-throwers, gold-chained union thugs, Boy Scout-hating lesbians, hand-wringing college professors, and the rest of the parasites, losers, and goofballs, Texas is a very conservative state.
Got any more?
As Steve Martin used to say, “Well, excuse meeeeee!” What I saw and read stated that Leach made sure there was no place for James to sit or lie down. Even so, I still think it was a petty, silly thing to do. What was it supposed to accomplish? If James was/is such a pill, I don’t see how that would improve him any. Just kick his behind off the team if he’s a problem child.
“Got any more?”
Don’t be snippy with me young man (or woman)! I’m probably old enough to be your mother! :-P
Old enough to be my mother? :) Probably not. I’m almost 41.
I agree. Unfortunately, that group is large enough to make Republicans think the need Kay Bailey Hutchison instead of Jim DeMint. I want to pull Texas to a constitutionalist level, but we have to acknowledge where we are to be able to set a oath to where we want to be.
In my opinion, we should be building a bench in SW texas, Eastern New Mexico, non Denver Colorado, Eastern Arizona, Eastern California, as well as ND, SD, and Mt. These are traditionally libertarian areas that have been snookered by the dems claim that Republicans want to make everyone join the Methodist church.
