Thanks, Jaycee. I had lots of trouble with today’s Opener. It is still messed up but I got tired of working with it.
I have several pings on the December thread. I doubt that I will ever get them answered. I’m having a tough time with the current thread.
I appreciate you, Yorkie and Conor for opening the doors this morning.
Amy, I didn’t see any ‘problem’ with today’s opener, other than it is a cat. LOL!!! You done GOOD, gurl fren!
LOL
It has some extra graphic at the bottom; it tried to print it twice. I’ve forgotten what causes that.
I need to call my teacher. :)
Hi! We had a high of 10 above zero today. It’s going to be really cold here for a few days(Southern Wisconsin).
The birds don’t seem to mind as long as I keep the feeders full.
Cheers!
Well well Meg!! Guess what! I decided that my 18 year old needed some fun so I dressed and we were out of the house by 6:45am! We were the first ones at Kohl’s and the store was ghost town. It was awesome..free reign over everything!
Nice thirsty bathtowels for $2.49. Nothing fancy but they sure will do the job, and in nice colors!
Needless to say I am home and envy you all snuggled in warm throws! I don’t need a throw in Los Angeles today. The temp said 80 in my car as I was coming down the freeway towards home!

Oh my Jaycee!!! You got snow today in Tennessee!!! Mercy me!
That is TOO cute! LOL!
:)
Cute! They do look warmer huddled together.
The local wild birds wait for me every morning to load up the feeders and give them water.
That’s after I feed the horses. And then the dogs, and then me. The Husband feeds himself at least!
: )
For the New Year! the best to all my friends here.
Shuuush, Quiet please, my head is throbbing as if ‘I’ ever had a hangover!!!!!
Perhaps one of my Tequila Shooters was bad and I had a reaction it (yeah, that’s it!)

Lifes a Prospect
He were old as dirt itself, his mule too
ageless paragons of western go and do
Plodders along the back roads of life
away from the common run of strife
Oh weary the so many miles and the years
spend wandering amid silences and fears
Dry camps and wet seasons took their toll
and all away from mankinds easy dole
Old Jennifer, a mule with lasting calm still
lugs their tools across hot desert and treed hill
patient as Job himself would have had to be
there in the depths of the so silent sandy sea
Zeke, a wonder of human endurance in a man
gnarled akin to driftwood, he seeks as he can
Ever onward in the path he seeks before him
though now his strength is less, his vision dim
These two are like ancient spirits, seeking release
haunts of the hills for a bit to give them peace
Plodding ever on, seemingly eternal on the whole
yet one asks, what does it take to fill their souls
Pan a bit of color here, mine a bit of low-grade there
Never making more then the next grubstake fair
Yet, out they go again, hopes and dreams in place
carrying them far from the yoke of the human race
Whipcord and sinew, bone and muscle, going old
moving them along the trail and over the hills fold
Passing from our view, they go ever and ever on
and who can tell if theyll see many more dawns
In the end, one might have to ask to be fair
if they in the end had, more then pain and care
Did they find the rhythm of life we all seek so
did they have the wisdom to really even know
Glad you had fun shopping. I could really enjoy some LA weather!
52 sounds very nice right now. We won’t see that until March or April.
Time for another cup of tea!
Cheers!
We reached a high of 22 today and its back down to 17 tonight. I am always afraid of losing power during the night but I am terribly thankful tonight for such a nice warm house!
I cuddled up a lot today like Meg! I took down these downstairs decorations and will do the living room Monday or Tuesday. I am in no hurry thankfully! I brought in the outside wreaths and things.
Johnn, I hope you and your lady have a wonderful New Year with many blessings. And thank you always for the wonderful poetry you bring to us.
Thank you, Johnn
for the moving poem.
