Do you believe that an innocent little baby should be held liable for the sins of her ancestors?
How do you understand the concept of "Original Sin" ?
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach
The initial state of the little baby girl isn’t innocence, but a state of existence involving spiritual separation from God. God originally created and formed man in body, soul, and spirit. Upon the original sin, spiritual death was immediate, and is passed physically from each and every generation until the next. We are condemned prior to being saved, but salvation is still possible, by simple faith alone in Christ alone. Further sanctification is also available, again through faith in Christ, by the work of God the Holy Spirit.
In many ways it really doesn’t matter if one deserves or should be liable. On the contrary, the issue is positional righteousness. If Perfect Justice finds one Perfectly Righteous, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done or haven’t done, the justice has already decided the matter.
“Do you believe that an innocent little baby should be held liable for the sins of her ancestors?”
I would not correct God. I would not say He should do otherwise.
I believe God’s word. It says we are all sinners, conceived and born in sin. Because of Adam’s sin, we are all condemned to death.
God does not sin. His judgments are always correct. He knows better than me.
That does not mean it is ok to murder someone. It means God is sovereign, though, and owes us nothing. We are in His debt. We are His.
