Mr. Carullo said he took aerial photographs in late August and September showing a direct line of leafless trees extending away from the well pad.
“It was completely obvious by the photographic evidence,” he said.
You eco-commies have earned ONLY distrust.
The “completely obvious” destruction of acid rain turned out to be caused by a blight affecting that region, not acid rain.
First, we investigate. THEN we reach a judgment.
Unless, of course, you are an anti-capitalist, eco-commie liar. THEN it is fair to do nothing more than ACCUSE and CONVICT.

A state investigation found that a "weathered petroleum product" was discharged at the site, in breach of environmental laws

My take is it to early to determine what caused the problem. It may have been a release of chemicals in the ground that the drilling upset. If that’s the case clean it up and take more precautions and have the state EPA follow this more closely. In fact don’t these EPA guys suppose to check the site every couple of weeks? Are they doing their jobs?
Easy solution here - ban petroleum usage in Pennsylvania.
Drilling in the northern tier of Pennsylvania is going fast and furious. I have no doubt that there is a lot of this going on.
