I agree with the husband. It would be cruel to dress a boy in that outfit.

I had a similar experinece when I was a child. Until I was about five, I had long hair; so it was obvious I was a girl, even though I was tomboy and hated to wear ruffles and dresses. Then my Mom got tired of taking care of my hair and imposed the awful “Dorothy Hamill” haircut on me. Now I was a tomboy who looked like a boy. Mom still insists that I looked cute, but I remember people addressing me as “little boy” and asking my parents “how old is he.” It bugs me to this day, and I still can’t stand Dorothy Hamill.
