No way! I have a “penpal” in Kauai, from when we were in third grade! I finally got to meet her in 1997. She came here with her family, and I still have photos of it. She sent me some macadamia chocolates for Christmas that year!
I had a college friend from Honolulu. She used to bring pineapples and macadamia nuts back from every trip home!
She’s a lawyer for whoever the INS is calling itself now, and lives in Dallas.
