While some would alarm all-around abating a theory, others would alarm it a accurate set of facts. Opinions alter vehemently. Let us accede all-around abating to be both a apriorism that the ambiance of the apple as we apperceive it is slowly, but actual absolutely accretion in all-embracing air and baptize temperature, and a affiance that if whatever is causing this trend is not disconnected or challenged activity on apple will dynamically be affected.

You must be getting some pretty cold weather, no?

"Missing TX yet, DC?"

Heck! If I found myself in MN, I'd be missing D.C.!

(D.C., the District of Columbia, is a little chunk of my home state of Maryland (MD), that was donated to be the Nation's Capital. Another chunk on the Virginia (VA) side, they got back.

It's probably too late for us to get our piece back. Besides, look what a mess they've made of it!)

23 balmy degrees, no snow or ice. I heard at the speech tournament Tom’s doing that the schools from Asheville couldn’t get here because of snow.

Tom’s efforts are going well, I think, comparable with some of the other competitors I’ve seen. I had to keep taking Frank out to the halls because he wanted to yell, “Bub, bub, Bubba!” while people were reading. Once I had to let him bite my finger with his two pointy teeth to keep him quite for a few minutes ;-).

Tom has three more rounds tomorrow, and eventually we’ll find out if he’ll be in semifinals. Since I don’t know how many people that includes, I don’t know what the chances are.

Our winter has been pretty average too. I feel really sorry for the people who live in areas where they are not used to it.

They are using sand from Scarborough Beach in England for grit. Even I_T has been dealing with snow, and weather, not normal in Ireland.

It seems that the jet steam is not affecting you and I as much. It IS allowing cold air down the central US, the center of the European Continent, and into Asia.

Why do I keep thinking of the movie ‘Day after tomorrow’?

I'm in Canada, heh. A long cold period could be seriously bad. The land my house is built on, used to be under 2 miles of ice.
Oh well. I've read that freezing to death doesn't hurt very much. I hope that is true, because I found an Asian ladybug in the house the other day, and I threw it outside.

They have made the D of C look like a bad cartoon drawing!

I remembered DC complaining about the heat in TX a few months before he moved north.

Seasons each have a beauty to them, no matter how ...hot, cold, wet, dry, etc.

Good for Tom.

And Frank doing the mock Bubba thing? Priceless.

Good luck Tom!

I heard at the speech tournament

Speech tournament? Aiiiieeee....

Never heard of such a thing (though I know of Toastmasters).

Methinks maybe it's time to consider retirement if we're raising a crop of young bucks like that! It wasn't very many years ago that I reached the point where I could get up in front of a group of strangers -- to talk about material they want to hear and which I know pretty well.

It seems that the jet steam is not affecting you and I as much.

No jet "steam" here, unless that's what's holding off the cold air.

But seriously, "they" had forecast a warmer winter here and that is what we have had so far. Not one bit of snow yet, which is unusual, but temperatures down low enough that the moss will not spread, which is good.

Death by hypothermia is reportedly relatively painless once one gets past the shivering stage. Don't know, haven't been there. *\;-)

Stay warm!

“National Forensics League.” It includes several forms of debate and a variety of other speaking events. I did it back in the 70s, but there much more variety now. This is a big regional event, with lots of bright young folks, including a notable percentage of East Indians. The Indian girls all thought Frank was cute!

I’m a Grandma!

Adriana Maria arrived at 7:23 this evening. I arrived at 7:15, just as the head was making an appearance. Very quick labor!

Baby is healthy, pink, and vocal. Mom is doing well.

Preposterous!

You’re much too young to be a Grandma. Congratulations nonetheless. Much joy to your families.

I just saw on another thread that the average age for American women to have a first grandchild is 47.
