While some would alarm all-around abating a theory, others would alarm it a accurate set of facts. Opinions alter vehemently. Let us accede all-around abating to be both a apriorism that the ambiance of the apple as we apperceive it is slowly, but actual absolutely accretion in all-embracing air and baptize temperature, and a affiance that if whatever is causing this trend is not disconnected or challenged activity on apple will dynamically be affected.

If procrastination is the theme for the day, we picked a good day for it.

Not for me. Up "early" (for a winter Saturday) to stop off at the store for a few items for "Mens' Breakfast" after Morning Prayer at church. The Jack Daniels pancake syrup was a big hit!

Then the Junior Warden (the Anglican title for the guy in charge of the facilities) sent us out on a few work parties, repairing some things around the place.

Then it was home to see what mischief the legislature was up to, now that they are back in session. So far only 3 bills to take a whack at, though one escaped its initial committee amazingly quickly, but to my delight one for which I could compliment the author in front of her committee. And urge passage.

Still have one more letter to draft, but it's not on any agendas for a week yet and I am exhausted.

Definitely NOT a day for procrastination!

LOL, from an e-mail:

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to a “Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

The Scots raised their threat level from “Kiss Off” to “Let’s get ‘em!” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the frontline in the British army for the last 300 years.

Italy has increased the alert level from “Shout loudly and excitedly” to “Elaborate Military Posturing.” Two more levels remain: “Ineffective Combat Operations” and “Change Sides.”

The Germans also increased their alert state from “Disdainful Arrogance” to “Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs.”

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels....

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

New Zealand has also raised its security levels from “baaa” to “BAAAA!. Due to continuing defence cutbacks (the air force being a squadron of spotty teenagers flying paper airplanes and the navy some toy boats in the Prime Minister’s bath), New Zealand only has one more level of escalation, which is “ hope Australia will come and rescue us”. In the event of invasion, New Zealanders will be asked to gather together in a strategic defensive position called “Bondi”.

Australia, meanwhile, has raised its security level from “No worries” to “She’ll be right, mate”. Three more escalation levels remain, “Crikey!’, “I think we’ll need to cancel the Barbie this weekend” and “The Barbie is cancelled”. So far no situation has ever warranted use of the final escalation level.

LOL!

I’m not surprised by Ash eating the beans. If it’s on the counter, it’s hers.

Tom was standing right there, and she just pushed passed him, stood up, and started eating out of the saucepan. At least it’s a nutritious meal!

DP and I watched “Sherlock Holmes’s Smarter Brother,” starring Gene Wilder, Madeline Kahn, and Marty Feldman. It was bizarre and extremely funny.

I went last night, and DP went this morning. Rainy here, and nobody’s feeling really well, so we didn’t want to take the little boys.

I’m sure I’ve seen that. Young Frankenstein was pretty funny, too.

Gene Wilder wrote both. I think he’s funnier than Mel Brooks, not as coarse.

Congratulations on making it to church!

Busy week. Whipped out the maindeck in four days straight (working 0600 to 2000), then went underway. First day of that included a man overboard drill in the dark (which, underway, means you can't see your hand in front of your face), and then I had watch immediately afterwards for four hours. Next day we tied up to a pier in heavy winds, which took two hours (just to moor.) Onloaded some stuff - another few hours. Then we were going to have helo ops, but by that time it was too windy for the chopper to come out. So the higher ups decided to do an engine room fire drill instead. They had to cut that short, because most of the fire teams were seasick (along with everyone else. Me included.)

By then the wind had picked up to 55 knots with 70-knot gusts, and we had 20 to 25-foot swells. Worst watch ever. I almost blew off the flybridge. Hovel (who was my lookout partner) had to hold me by the collar until I got hold of a solid object. He's about three times my size, so he of course didn't have any trouble. I was sick off the bridge wing a few times, and then the conning officer told me to go below until I felt better.

Next day we tied up in Seattle. The wind died down. Most of the crew were exhausted. Me, Hovel, Stephenon, and Cousins went out for pizza and beer. Then me and Stephenson got cigars, and after that Cousins left to hang out with someone from MIDGETT. Those of us leftover went to Gamestop (where I didn't find anything interesting enough to buy), and Barnes and Noble (I got Batman in Black and White and a book about World War II tank battles.) Then we saw Book of Eli, which was an excellent movie. Kind of a post-apocalypse steampunk intellectual show. I liked it. It had swordfighting and gatling guns, at the same time.

Yesterday I slept all day. We were out pretty late. I was tired.

In other news, I'm putting in my leave chit Tuesday or Wednseday. Me and Garcia have worked out the whole standby thing..I'll be standing her duty days in the beginning of March, and then she'll stand mine at the end. Works out nicely.

Ah, sweet impetuousness of youth!

If we did not believe we could not die, we would never do the things that make us immortal.

Well, that sounds like it was lots of fun! You could have been a typist at Fort Leonard Wood, after all ...

We’ll look forward to learning your leave dates for sure.

Not much going on here. Frank’s eating a cookie that seems to be made from eggwhite and confectioner’s flour. It’s dissolving faster than he can chew it. He needed a bath, anyway.

Ash ate some shrimp tails. Elen spent the night with Kelcey last night; Debbie says hi and she’s glad you’re having fun. It’s raining. Your dad cleaned his closet for the first time since 2003. He found all sorts of things he’d accused people of taking!

I finished “Leisure, the Basis of Culture” and later I’ll start “Literary Biography of Ronald Knox.” We watched the Harry Potter movie, wasn’t bad. I’ll return it to Netflix tomorrow.

Many dangers lie ahead
Some of us may never return
Rather sold as a slave to the Saracens
Than chained to your bed, chained by your life!

Eh. It wasn’t too bad. At least we didn’t have to do a portage, like Vikings. Although only a few people were cheered by that thought.
