If I can substitute a Benelli M1 Super 90 for the Remington 870 then I’ve got 4 out of 10.

The author left out the free world’s right arm: the FN FAL. That’s number 5.

I’ve got 5 of them, and agree that the FN-FAL should be included, along with the Colt Python .357. Which would make 7 for me...

I think it's safe to substitute almost any 12-gauge riot gun for the 870. I'll put my Winchester 1300 up against any Mossberg or Remington out there for reliability, durability and accuracy.

If you allow that substitution, substitute the full length Mosin-Nagant 91-30 for the M44 carbine, and replace that pantywaist AR-15/M-16 mouse gun with the ballsy FN-FAL, I'd have 6 of 10. But I'd have to say my vote for "manliest" firearm ever has to be the M-1 Garand. I hope to acquire one next year.
