My guess is that if they found a church they felt comfortable in, the press would have to check it out, and find another Jeremiah-Wright-type preacher denouncing the United States.
This whole “don’t go to church” is an interesting side-show. I remember two years ago this was my biggest concern about Fred Thompson, who also professed to be a Christian but also said he didn’t attend services.
Well Church attendance can be a con. I know people in my town who do it...and you know they are as evil as the day is long.
