TMZ.com is reporting. An investigator's notes also indicated that the bedroom nightstands held "large amounts" of medication prescribed to Murphy, her husband, mother and "unidentified third party names." The drugs included Topamax, an anti-seizure drug that prevents migraines; Methylprednisolone, an anti-inflammatory; Fluoxetine, which treats depression; Klonopin and Ativan, both anti-anxiety meds; Carbamazepine, which treats diabetic symptoms and bipolar disorder; Ativan, an anxiety med; the pain relievers Vicoprofen and Hydrocodone; Propranolol, used to treat hypertension, and to prevent heart attacks; the antibiotic Biaxin and vitamins. The notes say, "No alcohol containers, paraphernalia or illegal drugs were discovered."
Murphy seemed happy in public, but friends say she battled "inner demons," including body image issues. She looked thin and frail in her final public appearance, left, on Dec. 3, which led to the return of rumors that she suffered from drug abuse and/or eating disorders. "Brittany seemed sick for a while," a friend told E!Online. Besides her weight, "She made a few lifestyle choices that had her friends concerned. But it doesn't look like many people did anything about it," the friend said. In 2005, Murphy denied rumors that she used cocaine, saying, "I have never tried it in my entire life. I've never even seen it It couldn't be further from the truth." The same year, she denied reports that she had an eating disorder. "I'm the same size I was in 'Clueless,' it's just that the weight in your face changes as you grow and get older," she said. "This is my body. I'm proud of it I'm healthy."
TMZ reports that Murphy did have a will, written before she met her husband, Simon Monjack. The will leaves her estate to her mother, Sharon Murphy. The house Brittany owned was held in trust, which was created before she met Monjack, so TMZ reports he is not listed on the title
I’ve probably got more than that. In light of the current political situation, I’m not throwing ANY medical supplies away.
lol...
I don’t blame you!
Propranolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation.
Propranolol is used to treat tremors, angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack, and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches.
Poor child, sounds like she was really suffering from the list of symptoms those drugs treat.
A "friend" tells a reporter that her actions had "friends concerned" but that none of her "friends" did anything about it!?!
What a POS for a "friend"!!!
Looks like more than one MD was writing scripts for her.
For the curious all of these medications could easily end up in the medicine cabinet of someone suffering from one of the three major genes that cause "acute Scandinavian intermittent porphyria" ~ which is not really a porphyria as defined with the 82 other liver function alleles that create porphyria or porphyria-like symptoms.
Kind of wonder if she had noticeable atrial fibrillation ~ of the kind better treated with ablative surgery than with beta blockers.
Everything I have learned about Brittany Murphy, was due to FR.
I take vitamins and herbal supplements. I’m not using prescription drugs unless I have to. I developed a facial tic, and instead of taking Orap, I starting taking Nature’s phenytol w/nem. Completely cleared it up.
Yeah, and if so, he has some 'splainin to do.
I'm not in Medicine, but in Pharma. Still, we learn a lot about reactions and interactions...
That list of products is enough to make me wonder.
Every drug has a side-effect. Most liberals are on some type of psychotropic medication.
I'm sure this will be contested. Everything I've read show Brittany to have been Monjack's meal ticket (as with all the other women in his life).
That's not unusual either - I have scripts from my primary, a specialist, the emergency room, my dentist, and another doctor who I had to see when mine was on vacation. I'm not currently taking most of the drugs I've filled prescriptions for, but they were all legitimate scripts for legitimate problems, including three different narcotics. The only thing I make sure to finish all of is antibiotics. Most of her pharmacy looks pretty innocuous.
I'd never heard of her before she died, and she may have been a pill-popper extraordinaire, but having lots of different drugs on hand, prescribed by lots of different doctors isn't proof of that, or even strong evidence. I'm mildly interested to see what turns up at the autopsy.
The dates on the products might be interesting, too. I switched around several different diabetic meds and I didn't throw any of the rejects away, so if somebody just listed the contents of my medicine cabinet, it would look like I was on all of them at once unless you checked the dates.
Beta blockers for a 32 year old female raise suspicion.
if I recall having read somewhere a long time about beta-blockers being used by musicians to calm jittery nerves when they perform.perhaps actors are doing the same thing. it’s well knwon in the musical community at large , even classical, that beta-blockers help stage nerves.
I have, too, but let's just say that unless Viagra was available after the concert, the groupies may have left disappointed ;-)
sad wasn’t it? ;)
If you can not tolerate one of them then it is out of line.
