Sex and the City Actress Cynthia Nixon Promotes Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Hollywood elite and abortion promotion have long been synonymous but Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon is quickly becoming one of the leading pro-abortion voices in Tinseltown. Nixon followed up her Planned Parenthood fundraising letter earlier this year by wading into the health care debate.

Nixon is joining abortion advocates who want to ensure taxpayer funding of abortion remains in the Senate government-run health care bill.

Just one week after returning to the United States from filming the sequel to the popular television franchise's first feature film, Nixon is bashing a congressman's ban on abortion funding that made it in the House bill.

She explained to CNN why she "can't keep quiet" about promoting abortions -- at taxpayer expense.

"It's a very basic female right that we need to protect," Nixon said. "What's so frightening about this Stupak ban is that he's found a backdoor way to basically not cover abortion for the vast majority of American women."

In the CNN interview, Nixon, who plays the character Miranda on Sex and the City, talked about her decades-long abortion activism and said it stemmed from personal reasons.

"I've been involved since I was 15, so we're talking almost 30 years now," she said.

"My mother had an illegal abortion pre-1973, and it's something that I would never want to face or want my daughter to be facing or any of her friends. Abortion is a right I feel must not go away, and I feel like people aren't mobilizing so much because it's so complicated and it's difficult to understand," she said.

Nixon called "patently false" the explanation that the Stupak amendment keeps the current federal law against abortion funding in place and said abortions should be "covered as a complete given" and called abortion "a major component of women's health care."

The actress also has advice for a pro-abortion movement increasingly on the defense and on the outs with more Americans -- as polls show a majority of Americans are pro-life and even larger portions oppose abortion funding in health care.

"I think we can continue to tell stories about backstreet abortions and how horrible they are. The idea of making access to safe abortions harder and more expensive and more difficult, having to travel across state lines -- that puts women's health and lives in jeopardy," Nixon claimed to CNN.

Nixon also has nothing good to say about pro-life advocates.

"The people who concern me the most are the people who want to illegalize abortion," she said.

Nixon's character in Sex and the City faced the decision of having an abortion ultimately to come away keeping her baby, with whom she develops a real fondness. Still, the episode only emboldened Nixon's pro-abortion views, according to the CNN interview.

"The message was choice. Miranda is a fighter. If she had to fight to get to that abortion, if there were forces working against her, she would have fought and fought and fought to get there and she might not have stopped to think," she said.

"But she was able to sit there in that doctor's office, about to go have an abortion with the support of her friends, and think to herself," she added.

Nixon appears to understand her comments cold lose her supporters in movie-land.

"Abortion is a hard thing for Hollywood to deal with because it is so controversial and you don't want to alienate half your audience by sending one message or the other," she tells CNN.

She’s a pro-abort lesbian. Big surprise she comes down this way on abortion. She’s still hoping to get work in that town again before they can’t tape everything up anymore.

Gee, if she has to pick a lesbo partner, at least pick one that’s not butt ugly.”

That is more common than you might think:
They pick someone who is coyote ugly so that they can feel so very special themselves, doncha know? Especially the celebs.

If she doesn’t want to alienate half her audience by sending
one message or the other then she should shut up about it.

She used to be kind of cute as a kid in that 80's movie "The Manhattan Project". Too bad.

"It's a very basic female right that we need to protect," Nixon said.

Stopping the murder by abortion of their pre-born baby daughters and sons is the most fundamental right of men.

No. Better that those babies had been well-raised.

We also have the right to refrain from giving into lustful urges!
