I am a dog lover myself but am aware that one must be extremely careful with dogs around infants and small children.

I have been around weimaraners my whole life, currently have two that live inside. This is hard to imagine as they seem to be so loyal to their families, mine are very protective of my kids, and will stand in front of them when other dogs are around.....This is so sad!!!!

Yep, all dogs, especially hunter-types like this one need to be socialized/supervised with kids at a young age if you expect them to be around young children or non-canine pets. Not normally a maliciously aggressive breed, this is absolutely terrible.

I’ve got a ridgeback, great with small children, but had we not socialized her with the cat, she would have no problems with taking them down. Kills darn near anything that comes in the yard, with the only exception of cats and frogs/toads, which she was taught to avoid. Squirrels, rabbits, snakes, lizards, and other critters..not so lucky.
