What really ruined baseball was TV. Feckin' commercials have extended the games to 3 hours or more on average.
No daytime World Series games really p*sses me off, as does the late start times for night games.
I'll bet there isn't a school-aged kid in America who's ever seen the end of a WS game.
TV has ruined the NFL too.
