Absolutely. He just looked like what one would think Holmes looked like. Maybe that’s a result of my reading so much Doyle as a youth and watching Rathbone as Holmes. Either way, I always look forward to any Holmes on the big screen.
Yes. Jeremy Brett was the definitive, thinking man’s Holmes. I can’t imagine anyone doing a better production than these masterpieces. And I can’t figure out why movie makers want to take everything down to their own, juvenile, ignorant, faux-cool level.
