I don’t have any advice, but I can sympathize. I just had our computer crash due to something called Advanced Virus Remover. Killed every virus remover I tried to use. All advice I found online about how to get rid of it did not work.

You have to watch out, some of those virus removal sites are virus installation sites!

Often you anti-virus program’s website will have the best info, or zdnet.com (I think). Or if you’re unsure, search for blogs on the subject and you’ll get legitimate answers.

If you choose a removal tool you’re unfamiliar with, search “(name of the tool) Reviews”.

Slave the infected drive (or use an usb attachent to hook it up) then run Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes. The virus isn’t “active” and both of those should pick it up pretty easily.

Advanced Virus Remover happened here last week and used a program called combo fix. No other virus remover worked, but combo fix did. Good luck
