I’m certainly no expert but I find it very hard to believe that fiberglass is as strong as metal.

given a high temp, metal Aluminum will burn.

Depends on what type of strength you’re measuring. Still a pretty interesting idea. Except for the armor itself, nonmetal materials could be used in alot of armored vehicles for the chassis, treads, etc, to reduce weight.
